 Column-coat for Composite Columns
 Application Instructions


1.Kit includes: One-2 quart bucket of concentrated bonder, One-2 gallon bucket of Column-coat dry mix and one empty 2 gallon bucket. 2.Additional tools needed: Drill and mixing bit, sand paper, a large brush, a smaller brush and a small roller. 3.Lightly sand entire column, cap and base with 80-120 grit sandpaper
4.Open the small bucket of bonder concentrate. 5.Pour entire contents into empty 2 gallon bucket 6.Completely empty the small container using a brush.
7.Fill the small container with water to the first ring indicated here. Pour the water into the 2 gallon bucket with bonder concentrate. 8.Fill the small container again to half full and pour into 2 gallon bucket with bonder. 9.Mix with drill until concentrate is completely diluted. The mixture should yield 5 quarts.
10.Pour 2 quarts of diluted bonder back into the small container. This will be filling the container back to the first ring as in step 7. 11.Use the small roller and the contents of the 2 gallon bucket to coat the entire column, cap and base with bonder. You will have more than needed. 12.Cover the entire column. It will dry quickly.
13.Use the small brush to cover details. 14.Make sure drips and runs are brushed out creating a smooth, consistent coat. 15.Mix the Perma-coat dry material with the remaining 2 quarts of diluted bonder from the small bucket.
16.Mix until smooth. Make sure you mix all material from the sides and bottom. 17.Consistency should be creamy and stick easily to the brush. 18.Texture is created with vertical or horizontal brush strokes.
19.Use a small brush for details on the cap and base. Make sure you have a solid coat on all surfaces. Column-coat will dry quickly allowing for additional material where 20.Make sure column details are completely coated. 21.Let dry completely. Watch for dark gray spots indicating wet material.
22.As column is drying, rough edges can be smoothed with your hand or a glove. 23.After column is completely dry seal with a high quality exterior concrete paint or clear exterior concrete sealer. Sealer will make the column appear darker. Rich detail will be enhanced by the sealer.
